During his very first week, Stevenson faced a trial by fire. The client needed to separate their production instance from their demo instances - a Microsoft tenant migration that, if mishandled, could expose customer data and take down production environments serving thousands of enterprise users.
Stevenson designed the migration plan, built the testing environment, and executed the cutover with zero production downtime and zero security incidents. It was the kind of high-stakes project that defines a career, and he delivered it in his first week.
Beyond the migration, Stevenson built an IT automation framework that eliminated 14 hours of weekly manual IT maintenance tasks, including automated user provisioning, software license management, and system health monitoring.
He also caught a critical data integrity issue before it became a crisis. While managing the client's identity infrastructure, Stevenson noticed a mismatch between Google Workspace and Okta user data. Instead of waiting for a ticket, he implemented SCIM to force a perfect sync between the two systems - preventing what would have been a major HR data incident affecting the entire organization's reporting structure.
