Cachelle is a Quality Assurance Engineer at eFlexervices, supporting a SaaS CRM and software company. Her work spans test planning, test case development, manual and automated testing, and defect management across the client's product development lifecycle.
When Cachelle joined the team, the QA process was primarily manual and reactive - testing happened at the end of the development cycle, and defects discovered late in the process were expensive to fix. The engineering team was shipping features that met functional requirements but sometimes failed in edge cases that only emerged in production.
Cachelle redesigned the QA approach to shift testing earlier in the development cycle. She worked with the engineering team to establish testing requirements at the feature design stage, ensuring that testability was built into features from the beginning rather than retrofitted at the end.
She also built an automated regression test suite that covered the client's core user workflows, enabling the team to run comprehensive regression testing in a fraction of the time previously required. This gave the engineering team the confidence to ship more frequently without the risk of breaking existing functionality.
The client's production defect rate dropped significantly in the quarters following Cachelle's process improvements. The engineering team was shipping faster, with higher confidence, and the support team was fielding fewer defect-related tickets from enterprise customers.
